A journey with iPad - My iPad

 

iPad …

I never thought I will own one. I never thought of buying an Apple device. The biggest reason which anyone can guess is the price tag. It’s the most premium device here in India and owned by those who already are on the Apple ecosystem using any of the products like a Mac or iPhone. Apple devices are also known for defining your status.

Apple devices are bought mainly for these reasons

• It acts as a status symbol for those who own it mostly iPhones
• The most premium quality product that you can get may it be iPhone, iPod(now retired), iPad or the MacBook.
• Best in class multimedia capabilities, that why media companies have all MacBook or Mac AIO(all in one) or Mac mini for their creative teams
• Apple ecosystem, iCloud which provides features to seamlessly work across multiple Apple devices and also interact with other people having an Apple device

So if you are using an Apple device than you will upgrade to new version Apple except you didn't gel well with Apple ecosystem or you are on budget. There are 2 types of loyalties of Apple users, for brand and other for best in class quality + service. They say once an iPhone user is always an iPhone user.

There was a period when people wanted to get the iPhone and it was too costly. During this period jail broken devices and gifted(smuggled) ones were all over as they were lot cheaper and performed the same. These iPhones were locked to certain cellular service provider and had to jail break it to be used with other operators. Also, iPhones were cheaper in foreign countries which brought a new trend to gift them here.

Forward to recent day you get Apple devices on Amazon but you still have that premium price tag and you still have those odd options to an Apple device.

Apple was alien to me and never in my wish list. Then what happened???

Being a developer I came across the need to develop app for iOS device and then Apple’s importance started growing. Microsoft Visual Studio the best IDE (Developer Tool) was in MacOS.

While smart phones were getting popular their was a need for a device with bigger screen as mobile apps were a super success and the world was transitioning from the desktops & even laptops to something which can perform the task was easy to carry and had screen bigger than a smart phone, Tablets.

Tablets is the most important thing today post corona. While tablets prices surged there was always a need for best performance with compatibility. Android tablets were affordable but had performance issues and there were limited options.

Here comes the iPAD…

In the price range of around 30k you could get an iPad which almost same price of an best Samsung tablet and performed as good or even better.
